Jonathan S. Morse has been a practicing attorney since 1977.

He is admitted to practice in California and has been specially admitted for particular cases in 18 other states. During this time he has handled 25 trials, including 13 jury trials.

He has supervised lawsuits filed in Canada and Australia and personally participated in the defense of an American company which was sued in France.

He is a graduate of Princeton University where he received a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Before becoming an attorney, he worked as a flight test engineer then as a flight instructor and charter pilot. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.

Mr. Morse has successfully handled numerous complex aviation matters for pilots, mechanics, aircraft manufacturers and component parts manufacturers. He has also handled numerous non aviation matters, including prosecution of wrongful termination actions and construction accident cases.

He received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan in 1976.

  • Jon Morse has extensive experience in aviation matters, both transactions and lawsuits, during the past 38 years.

Litigation

  • Mr. Morse has extensive experience in handling aviation lawsuits in California and 19 other states. He has also supervised litigation in Canada and Australia and actively participated in ligation in France on behalf of an American components parts manufacturer.

Insurance Coverage

  • Mr. Morse has handled numerous cases for insurance coverage to establish the absence of coverage or a limitation on coverage for a particular claim. In many of these cases he commenced and prosecuted a Complaint for Declaratory Judgment to obtain a decree from the Court in favor of the insurer.

Appeals

  • Mr. Morse has successfully handled cases before the California Court of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Wrongful Termination

  • Generally, an employer can terminate an employee for any reason or no reason. However, there are exceptions to this rule. For example, an employer cannot retaliate against an employee who refuses to perform an illegal act or who blows the whistle on an illegal activity. Mr. Morse has participated in and personally handled actions against employers in favor of employees who claimed to have been wrongfully terminated in violation of public policy.

Business Disputes

  • Mr. Morse has extensive knowledge and success in dealing with various business disputes, and often settles matters before trial.
