NBAA-BACE 2019 Keynote Speaker Earvin “Magic” Johnson
Stephen Hofer, founder and president of Aerlex Law Group and Aerlex Tax Services, LLC, congratulates Earvin “Magic” Johnson, a long-time Aerlex friend, who will be the keynote speaker on the first day of the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) 2019 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (BACE), Tuesday, October 22nd, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In announcing that Earvin Johnson would be the keynote speaker at this year’s BACE, NBAA President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Bolen said of the veteran business jet owner, “His career, both in sports and business, has been built around a dedication to leadership, by example and service to others. We look forward to hearing his perspective on how business aviation has been instrumental in his work to build his business enterprises and invest in communities.”
“Magic” Johnson is a sports legend and today, a successful entrepreneur with numerous business and philanthropic interests. He is president of Magic Johnson Enterprises, a conglomerate company involved in real estate, entertainment, food service and financing, with a reported net worth of more than $700 million. Johnson also joined with Guggenheim Partners and other investors in acquiring ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team in 2012. He was a part-owner of the Los Angeles Lakers for several years. Johnson also played with the Lakers for 13 years and won five National Basketball Association (NBA – not to be confused with NBAA) championships in that span. He was chosen as the NBA’s regular season Most Valuable Player (MVP) three times and also won MVP honors in the NBA Finals and the NBA All-Star Game. He was a member of the original “Dream Team,” the first group of NBA stars who played for the United States in the Summer Olympics Games and won the 1992 Olympic gold medal. Johnson is a two-time inductee in the Basketball Hall of Fame, both as an individual player and as a member of the “Dream Team.”
Stephen Hofer has represented numerous celebrities, including many motion picture and television stars, famed recording artists and Hall of Fame athletes, during a career in business aviation and law that has spanned more than a quarter-century; indeed, the Los Angeles Daily Journal has called Hofer the “Aviation Attorney to the Stars.” Hofer will be attending NBAA-BACE and will be at the convention and available to meet with clients and prospective clients during all three days of the show, October 22nd through October 24th.
NBAA-BACE is one of the largest trade shows in the world and is expected to attract more than 23,000 industry professionals, including current and prospective aircraft owners, manufacturers, vendors, operators, service providers and customers, to renew relationships and get critical work accomplished.
