Meet Aerlex Attorney Amanda Applegate at Annual NAFA Conference

Aerlex Law Group attorney Amanda Applegate will attend the National Aircraft Finance Association’s (NAFA) annual conference, held this year in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, May 11th through May 13th.

This year’s conference, hosted at the Fort Lauderdale Harbor Beach Marriott Resort, is the organization’s 45th annual gathering. The NAFA conference offers members the chance to learn about current industry trends relating to aircraft transactions, financing and leasing.

Ms. Applegate, Aerlex Senior Transactional Counsel, has extensive experience in handling whole aircraft transactions and have successfully closed hundreds of sales and purchases around the world.

In addition to whole aircraft transactions, Ms. Applegate also has a unique understanding of fractional ownership which she developed during her dozen-year tenure as Associate General Counsel and Vice President of NetJets before joining Aerlex in 2011. She is the author of a column in Business Air magazine that is read every month by aviation professionals around the world.

NAFA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the success of lending institutions and others involved in the aircraft financing and lending industry and working with government agencies to help develop a greater understanding of the industry and its needs.

At the conference, speakers will address the current economic outlook and its impact on the business aircraft industry, as well as recent developments and critical issues impacting aviation finance. Specific topics this year examine issues such as fraudulent transactions and cybercrime, the risks associated with financing an imported aircraft, and the future of aircraft lending. Social events at the conference include a golf tournament, an Everglades safari airboat tour, cocktail receptions, and a dinner with live auction.
