NAFA Conference—Fort Lauderdale, FL—March 3-6

Aerlex Law Group attorney Amanda Applegate will attend the National Aircraft Finance Association’s (NAFA) annual conference, to be held this year at the Harbor Beach Marriott in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from March 3rd through March 6th. This year’s conference is NAFA’s 48th annual gathering. The NAFA conference offers members a chance to learn about current industry trends relating to aircraft transactions, financing and leasing.

Ms. Applegate, a Partner at Aerlex, has extensive experience in handling whole aircraft transactions and has successfully closed hundreds of sales and purchases around the world. In addition to whole aircraft transactions, Ms. Applegate also has a unique understanding of fractional ownership programs, which she developed during her twelve year tenure as Associate General Counsel and Vice President of NetJets prior to joining Aerlex in 2011. She is also the author of a monthly column in Business Air magazine that addresses important issues involved in the acquisition, sale and operation of private aircraft.

NAFA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the success of lending institutions and other organizations involved in the aircraft financing and lending industry. NAFA also works with government agencies to help develop greater understanding of the industry and its needs.

At the conference, speakers will address the current economic outlook and its impact on the business aircraft industry, as well as recent developments and critical issues impacting aviation finance. The keynote address “Leading Ahead of What’s Next–The New Rules of Business” will be presented by author Geoff Colvin. The conference will also include insight from industry leaders about how they are responding to current and anticipated market dynamics in a session entitled “The State of the Aviation Industry” with speakers Ford von Weise (Director, Citi Private Bank), Mark Baker (President, AOPA) and Ed Bolen (President, NBAA). Social events at the conference include a golf tournament, a deep sea fishing excursion, cocktail receptions, and an awards dinner with a silent auction.
